The smashed foam is made from the leftover of various foam materials (usually PU) and rubber by hot gluing and pressing. It absorbs the glue and has been pressed into shape. A cross-linking agent is usually added during the foaming process, and the polymer is difficult to be thermoplastics again after being cross-linked. Thus the re-glued smashed foam has exerted its maximum utilization, and can hardly be reprocessed. So this material is usually designed to a life longer product, such as cushioning materials. more
