The main production areas of wax apple include Pingtung, Kaohsiung, Chiayi, Nantou, and Yilan. The leggy, upward, endogenous, weak, dead, pest-infested, and dense branches will be pruned within 2~3 days after flower induction every July to October, which produce a large number of discarded branches. If these branches are not properly treated, they can only be burned in incinerators or in the mountains and forests randomly, which may cause environmental pollution.
