The production season of pears is July to September, and branches are pruned from November to next January. The thick branches are pruned once every 3 to 5 years, and a large number of discarded branches will be produced (about 10-20 tonnes per production area). If these branches are not properly treated, they can only be burned in incinerators or in the mountains and forests randomly, which may cause environmental pollution. However, the discarded pear branches can also be useful after removing the grafting tape, and assembled into stationery (such as pens and ballpoint pens) after turnery, drilling, grinding, and combining with metal accessories.more
