According to Taiwan’s orchid export data, the export value of Phalaenopsis orchids reached US$159.38 million in 2024, accounting for 80.63% of the total value of orchid exports. This extract is produced from orchids in orchid nurseries that are unsuitable for sale because of their appearance. Their essential oils are extracted through steam distillation. The orchid extract is rich in bioactive compounds, including polyphenols, flavonoids, polysaccharides and alkaloids.
