TPU Elastic Yarn

1/

Most commercially available spandex yarns are made from thermosetting polyurethane (PU), making them difficult to recycle and reprocess. By contrast, this elastic yarn is made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) using a solvent-free manufacturing process. The yarn offers excellent resistance to hydrolysis, retaining more than 80% of its fibre strength after 42 days of immersion in water at 80°C. It also features fine filaments, with each filament measuring less than 20 denier, and high extensibility, with an elongation at break exceeding 700%. It is suitable for producing elastic footwear materials and fabrics for use in the footwear and sportswear industries. At the end of its useful life, the material can also be readily recovered and recycled, thereby helping to reduce its environmental impact. more
