Through the leadership of the hosiery industry, local suppliers such as hosiery machine factories, hosiery factories, and packaging material factories are brought together to participate in carbon footprint assessments, carbon reduction initiatives, changes in weaving techniques, and process optimization. Utilizing sustainable product design and streamlining sock production processes, a low-carbon production chain is established. Estimations of product carbon footprints and carbon management of the supply chain are conducted for low-carbon functional socks. By providing carbon emission data to brand customers, strong collaborations between Taiwanese functional sport sock manufacturers and European and American sportswear brands are established, resulting in business opportunities reaching 15.15 million and a substantial annual carbon reduction of over 507 tons. With guidance from the Plastic Industry Development Center, carbon data for functional socks are monitored, establishing a low-carbon supply chain to meet the requirements of international brand customers, thereby enhancing the international competitiveness of Taiwanese functional sock products.more
