Quenched Blast Furnace Slag Powder
Water quenching blast furnace slag is the by-product of iron, limestone, coke, and welding flux through the liquid iron smelting process and high pressure water quenching. It contains CaO, SiO2 and Al2O3, which is similar to Portland cement. Adding slag powder into the Portland cement can reduce the use of cement to save natural sources and reduce the CO2 emission. The mixture of slag powder and Portland cement can make the blast furnace cement, which passes the national standard (CNS) of product homogeneity and capability. The blast furnace cement is a mature product, and many countries have set standards for it. It can further increase the cements constructive capability such as strength, durability, density and salt tolerance.
